Important: To avoid a risk of permanent data loss we strongly suggest that cases produced in previous versions of VideoFOCUS are backed up before attempting to open them in version 6.0. See the Data Compatability section for further details.

Windows 10 users: Windows 10 has a function that detects how frequently a program has been downloaded and shows a message if it has not been downloaded by a significant number of users. With our new versions of VideoFocus you may receive the message "Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting". To proceed with installation just check the box next to "I understand the risk and want to run this app", and click Run anyway.

Data Compatability:

The previous version of VideoFOCUS made substantial changes to the way that media is imported and stored within the application. These changes introduce a risk that cases created with a previous version of VideoFOCUS may not have all data preserved and could therefore suffer permanent data loss once opened in version 6.0. In order to reduce the risk of permanent loss of data we strongly recommend that if it is necessary to use version 6.0 to work on cases created with a previous version of VideoFOCUS an entire copy of the case directory and its contents are made before attempting to open the case in version 6.0.

Note that any previously installed versions of VideoFOCUS will still be installed and available for use after installing version 6.0.

Users with existing VideoFOCUS Pro installations are strongly encouraged to read the information here for important instructions relating to the activation and use of VideoFOCUS

  • Right click on the videofocuspro.exe link above to download the installer file to your desktop.
  • Double click on the downloaded file to start the installer. There may be a significant delay (perhaps a minute or so) as the installer unpacks all the data in preparation for install .
  • Be sure your computer is still hooked up to the internet.
  • Complete the install process.
  • Launch VideoFOCUS Pro. You will need the Installation ID provided to you by Salient Sciences. Existing Users: Your Installation ID can be found the about box of your existing VideoFOCUS application (avaliable via the help menu in VideoFOCUS). New Users: Your Installation ID will come under separate email. If you do not have it, please contact us.
