DONGLE USERS: On first use version 7.0 will request an Installation ID as part of the process of updating the dongle to a 7.0 license. Your Installation ID can be found on the tag on your dongle.

Important: The Version 7.0 data format has been redisgned to better support future backward compatibility and as a consequence version 7.0 cannot be used to open cases creeted with earlier versions. See the Data Compatability section for further details.

Windows 10 users: Windows 10 has a function that detects how frequently a program has been downloaded and shows a message if it has not been downloaded by a significant number of users. With our new versions of VideoFocus you may receive the message "Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting". To proceed with installation just check the box next to "I understand the risk and want to run this app", and click Run anyway.

Data Compatability:

This version of VideoFOCUS has a redesigned storage format intended to support backward compatability for future versions of VideoFOCUS. This change means that Version 7.0 cannot open cases created with earlier versions. To work on cases using previous versions use the appriate version of VideoFOCUS. Older versions of VideoFOCUS are available from the Salient Sciences support site.

Note that any previously installed versions of VideoFOCUS will still be installed and available for use after installing version 7.0

Users with existing VideoFOCUS Pro installations are strongly encouraged to read the information here for important instructions relating to the activation and use of VideoFOCUS

  • Right click on the download link above to download the installer file to your desktop.
  • Double click on the downloaded file to start the installer. There may be a significant delay (perhaps a minute or so) as the installer unpacks all the data in preparation for install .
  • Be sure your computer is still hooked up to the internet.
  • Complete the install process.
  • Launch VideoFOCUS Pro. You will need the Installation ID provided to you by Salient Sciences. Existing Users: Your Installation ID can be found the about box of your existing VideoFOCUS application (avaliable via the help menu in VideoFOCUS). New Users: Your Installation ID will come under separate email. If you do not have it, please contact us.
