VFSource 4.6

Important: To avoid a risk of permanent data loss we strongly suggest that cases produced in previous versions of VideoFOCUS are backed up before attempting to open them in version 4.6. See the Data Compatability section for further details.

The version 4.6 documentation

Data Compatability:

Version 4.6 makes substantial changes to the way that media is imported and stored within the application. These changes introduce a risk that cases created with a previous version of VideoFOCUS may not have all data preserved and could therefore suffer permanent data loss once opened in version 4.6. In order to reduce the risk of permanent loss of data we strongly recommend that if it is necessary to use version 4.6 to work on cases created with a previous version of VideoFOCUS an entire copy of the case directory and its contents are made before attempting to open the case in version 4.6.

Note that any previously installed versions of VideoFOCUS will still be installed and available for use after installing version 4.6.

Directions:

  • Right click on one of the VFSource download links above.
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Uninstall any previous version of VF Source on your computer.
  • Doubleclick on the downloaded file. The self extracting installer will launch and install VFSource and any other needed components.
  • A dialog will inform you when the installation is done.
  • Launch VFSource. You will need the Installation ID provided to you by Salient Sciences. Existing Users: Your Installation ID can be found the about box of your existing VFSource application (avaliable via the help menu in VFSource). New Users: Your Installation ID will come under separate email. If you do not have it, please contact us.
